About Me
My name is Francis Somera, and I write for Pass the Bib. I’m fascinated by food and how people are affected by it – memories stirred by a guilty pleasure, hopes renewed from a bite off a sweet treat, tears that well from the familiar scent of food. Pass the Bib belongs to anyone with a story to share about food.
I live in the Philippines so my posts would largely be about my experience as a foodie around the country. I’m slowly trying to get to do some traveling so I hope to share a few stories from places I’ve been after I started Pass the Bib.
Food was always a passion of mine – inspired early in life by episodes of Gordon Elliot’s Door Knock Dinners on the Food Network. A gourmet meal from canned goods and processed horrors, was the promise. My pantry has always been well-stocked so it wasn’t difficult to get in the mood to experiment on food. Of course, whether the outcome was edible or not was another story. I had a really healthy dog, when I was a kid.
Pass the Bib started as a social media technology experiment for me, that grew into a fantastic medium for me to write about something that actually interested me. Pass the Bib started as a fun and fantastically simple microblog on Tumblr which I maintain to this day for sharing a quick tidbit or two.
Thanks a lot for stopping by. Pass the Bib, please!
